Eric Richer

Aquatic Instrument Engineer (AQU/STR)

After completing his B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology at Kansas State University in 2001, Eric worked as an aquatic scientist on a variety of ecological and hydrological projects throughout the western U.S. He then served as a Peace Corp Volunteer in the Philippines where he developed and implemented coastal resource rehabilitation programs. The effects of land use on water and ecological resources in his coastal community led Eric to study watershed hydrology at Colorado State University. Following completion of his M.S. in Watershed Science in 2009, Eric managed the Loch Vale Watershed long-term ecological research and monitoring program in Rocky Mountain National Park. His research interests include the effects of land use and climate variability on hydrological processes, water quality, and ecosystem services. Eric’s work at NEON is focused on designing and implementing a continental-scale water quality monitoring network.
